  4.     The American political system made a fool of itself by refusing
  5. P.L.O. leader Yasser Arafat entry to the U.S. because of his
  6. support of terrorism (WORLD, Dec. 12). If this were the real
  7. explanation, the rule should apply to everyone, not just Arafat.
  8. I am against terrorism and similar acts of violence, but I am glad
  9. the U.N. decided to move the General Assembly meeting to Geneva.

  14.     The invitation by Sweden for Arafat to meet with an American
  15. Jewish delegation in Stockholm is yet another example of Swedish
  16. duplicity. Purportedly a Middle East peace initiative, it was in
  17. reality an attempt to curry favor with the Arab world. Wearing one
  18. hat, the Swedes launch countless peace doves; wearing another hat,
  19. they sell more arms than you can list. The Swedish invitation to
  20. Arafat was the epitome of hypocrisy.

  25.     Every time a terrorist looks in a mirror, he sees a freedom
  26. fighter. Ergo, the P.L.O. commits no acts of terrorism. For the
  27. Palestinians to forgo violence in order to obtain recognition as
  28. an independent state would be a giant step forward. The world would
  29. then look at their cause in a different light.

  34.     Just what more is Arafat expected to do -- kiss Israeli leaders
  35. and thank them for stealing his country? Tell them how happy he is
  36. that his people are routinely maimed, murdered and oppressed?
